Greetings from the homeland where we just completed three robotic engineering workshop for secondary school students! With support from the 2025 Matthews Masterpieces Fundraiser, we were able to provide everything needed for recent Oakland University engineering graduate Ramiz Francis to lead three hands-on workshops designed to inspire the next generation of engineers. Shlama from Alqosh, where we’re proud to support a young female entrepreneur in launching her own business. With funding from the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, we helped bring a new makeup and nail spa to life in Shuqa Ateeqa. Between 2024 and 2025, the Shlama Foundation invested more than $43,000 into the restoration of this historic district. We are honored to support Syriac teacher ‪ Athra Kado with the printing of his first children’s book! Thanks to our friends at ‪ RinyoToons we printed 1,000 copies of Volume 1, which have now been distributed to four kindergartens. This week, we also visited a second kindergarten in Alqosh to deliver additional copies.

We are proud to celebrate the completion of Phase 2 of the Shuqa Ateeqa Project! In partnership with the Church of Alqosh, we officially opened the newly renovated cafeteria, which will now be operated by a young woman entrepreneur who will enjoy three years of rent-free use to help grow her business. This historic part of the town was on the verge of being lost, as it had been neglected for the past 10 years. Now, we are bringing life back to it, saving this heritage site. W
