291 - Rebuilding a Small Business Destroyed by Fire

Updated: Aug 25

Shlama from Baghdeda! We’re proud to share that a beloved small business has been brought back to life after it was destroyed in a fire caused by faulty electrical wiring. This same family had rebuilt their shop once before, after Baghdeda was liberated from ISIS in 2017. Tragically, the shop burned down just last month. Thanks to the generosity of the 2024 Golden Key Gala and our monthly Gabbare donors, we were able to help them rebuild once more. We cleared the debris, repaired and painted the interior, installed high quality electrical wiring and an inverter heating and cooling unit, and replaced everything from the front window and shelving to refrigerators and inventory. The shop is now fully restored and open for business again. Thank you for giving this family another chance to thrive and one more reason to remain rooted in the homeland!
