About the Author

Athra Kado is a Syriac language teacher from the historic Assyrian town of Alqosh. For many years he has dedicated himself to preserving and promoting the Syriac language, one of the oldest continuously used languages in the world and an essential part of the cultural heritage of the Assyrian Chaldean Syriac people. He studied Syriac language at the University of Baghdad and has worked as a Syriac language teacher in schools across the Nineveh Plains since 2013, helping new generations learn to read and write their ancestral language.

Beyond the classroom, Kado has been involved in cultural and community initiatives that support the identity and future of his people in their homeland. He has also spoken publicly about the importance of protecting the Syriac language and through this workbook, he hopes to make learning Syriac accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for students everywhere. His mission is to inspire a new generation to read, write, and take pride in their ancient language and heritage. 100% of the sale of this book's proceeds go to Athra.
