Born and raised in Michigan, Gina grew up speaking only Aramaic in her household. Her parents were adamant that she and her brothers speak Aramaic whenever they could. She studied English, International Relations, and Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University. She later earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2021. Gina has always had a passion for her culture and Chaldean Assyrian background. Her paternal grandfather was an advocate in Iraq for the rights of Assyrian Chaldean Syriac people. She always admired that about him and wanted to follow in his footsteps. She joined E’rootha Assyrian Chaldean Syriac Youth Union when she was in high school to help tutor refugee students. Later she took on the role of Director of Administration and hosted the 2014 Art Show in which all proceeds were donated to Shlama Foundation. In 2020, she decided she wanted to get involved with Shlama and has since taken on the role of Content Director where she manages the social media accounts, website, and quarterly newsletter.

When she isn’t practicing insurance defense law or working on content for Shlama, Gina enjoys traveling, new cuisines, biking and spending time with her family.
