SETTING UP SUMMER YOUTH CAMP FOR 70 BOYS AND GIRLS IN NAHLA
Shlama in cooperation with Chaldo-Assyrain Student Youth Union set up a 3 days weekend (July 26 to 28) for 70 people in the region of Nahla, Akre district. The first day included games and educational lectures for social cohesion and development of humanity. On the second day various workshops were held including on psychological health, belonging to the land and traditional dances. On the third day, a celebration of the Nusardil festival was conducted with the locals of Nahla. The celebration involved traditional dances, poems and songs, including Assyrian “Raweh”.
CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S DAY WITH DISADVANTAGED KIDS
June 1st was International Children’s Day, and we spent it with disadvantaged kids in Ankawa! We gave them an evening of fun with music, face painting, activities and more.
AGRICULTURAL LEARNING TRIP FOR YOUTH OF AIN SIFNI
We collaborated with Shopra Group and Assuritu Organization and gave the youth of Ain Sifni a trip focused on learning about our ancestors' ancient agricultural practices.The team worked in Bakhtme, where they were lectured by Dr. Odisho Malko and Susan Al-Qasrani on how to choose the right type of planting and its proper development. They also visited a pistachio farm and helped out in the cleaning of bushes and weeds, learned more about the practice that has been passed down for thousands of years.
