Faris grew up in Alqosh, where he quickly began a life of serving his community. In 2009, he joined the Chaldo-Assyrian Student Youth Union (Khoyada) as a mentor and tutor to young kinds. In 2010, he joined the Hammurabi Scouts, where he continued to help young people by helping implement activities and programs. With his hard work and dedication, Faris became the head of the Sanharib branch for Khoyada in 2015 and the president of Hammurabi in 2018, both positions he still serves today. When the Islamic State invaded the Nineveh Plains in 2014, Faris listed himself as one of the original soldiers of the Nineveh Plains Protection Forces (NPU), and was stations in Alqosh, Bartella and Karamles from 2014 to 2021, helping protect the communities. In late 2016, Faris found time to take on yet another role and he joined the Shlama team and began to implement projects in Alqosh area. He is now the Shlama project manager for the Tel Keppe District, where he overseas and implements tens of projects every year.
